Since the early 90's, this organization was formed and maintained by pool enthusiasts Julie Hunter, Linda Silva, Christina Piona and sisters Emilyn and Eleanor Callado. The support has shifted over time, but it takes love, dedication and team work to keep this organization running successfully. Although it has been challenging at times, this women's tour has transformed into the largest women's pool organization in the state of California.
A big THANKS to Eric Harada for being our Director of Rules for 2 seasons! We will miss having you!
WHO WE ARE
The Board of Directors-
Kevin Yi, Tournament Director & Director of Rules
This is Kevin's 5th year on the Board. In the past two years, he has helped with the refereeing, raffle and break pot, updated statistics on the website, helped edit articles, acted as substitute tournament director, and acted as WPBA/NAPT liaison.
Cony Mendoza, Director of Marketing & Sponsorship
Cony has been part of the pool community for many years. She has competed in many venues including the BCAPL National Championships, ACS Nationals, and through out the East Bay in the Diablo Valley Pool League. She is an avid promoter of the TWCWT and also the sport of billiards in general. She runs local leagues, open tournaments, womens' leagues, scotch doubles tournaments, and co-directs memorial events like the Dave Piona Memorial (you can find more information by visiting the Diablo Valley Pool League at www.dvpool.com).
As the Director of Marketing & Sponsorship, she is responsible for recruiting new and returning sponsors for each season. She coordinates and communicates with graphic designer, Annette Wood, to create tour advertisements on printed publications and also generates articles to On the Break pool/billiards magazine.
Emilyn Callado, Director of Communications & Membership
Emilyn is a national pool competitor. She has actively supported the tour for several years by helping to run tournaments, recruit new pool rooms and players alike. After directing the tour in 2014, her main focus this year is to make all players feel welcome and to make the tour a positive and motivating experience for everyone. She also helps to connect players to pool resources and opportunities in the area.
Eleanor Callado, Director of Finance & Budget, Web Master
Eleanor has played pool for over 18 years and through her hard work, dedication, and experience became the WPBA's #7 ranked player in 2016 in the United States. It is also because of her love for the sport that she contributes her time with the TWCWT board as their Director of Finance & Budget. With her eight years of accounting experience, she utilizes her strong financial management skills with budgeting and reporting all income and expenses for the tour.
